Board rules

These rules are disclosed to clarify the various responsibilities of all community members here on The Colorado Rogues Community Forums. They shall be adhered to by everyone to ensure that our board runs smoothly and provides a fun and productive experience for all of our community members and visitors.

  2. General

    1. By accessing “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums” (hereinafter “we”, “us”, “our”, “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums”, “”), you agree to be legally bound by the following terms. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms then please do not access and/or use “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums”. We may change these at any time and we’ll do our utmost to keep you informed, though it would be prudent to review this regularly yourself as your continued usage of “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums” after changes mean you agree to be legally bound by these terms as they are updated and/or amended. #
    2. Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter “they”, “them”, “their”, “phpBB software”, “”, “phpBB Group”, “phpBB Teams”) which is a bulletin board solution released under the “General Public License” (hereinafter “GPL”) and can be downloaded from The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions.   3. TOS Details

    1. “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums” is a private, invite-only bulletin board service which supports the Colorado Rogues and their auxiliary members and guests. You must be at least 18 years of age to join the forums (with exceptions for recognized children of members who are at least 13 years of age). All new members must be vouched and confirmed by a full member of the Colorado Rogues organization. When you register, you must provide certain basic information that will be shared among the members of the organization to verify your eligibility and identity. This information will not be shared outside the organization. Due to the vouching and verification process, activation of your account on these forums could take up to 14 days. #
    2. You agree, through your use of these forums, not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually orientated or any other material, that is in violation of any laws of your country, United States Federal Law or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if requested by them or other law enforcement agencies. The IP address of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. #
    3. You agree not to post any spam, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or inappropriate solicitations. Repeated posts of the same or similar content will also be considered spam. #
    4. Independent of local, state, national and international laws, you agree not to post any material of a sexual or adult nature without including “Not Safe for Work”, “NSFW”, or other appropriate warnings in the subject title. This is a courtesy to your fellow members. This includes posts with embedded pictures, attachments, hyperlinks, adult language or other generally offensive material. Indecent or sexually explicit avatars are expressly prohibited at any time. #
    5. You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums”, its owners, any related websites to these forums, its staff, and its subsidiaries, from any legal or civil action that results from your posted messages. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of these forums. #
    6. You agree not to repeatedly flame other members of these forums, to especially include trolling activities. For the purposes of this agreement, Flaming means hostile and insulting interaction between users, usually the result of the discussion of heated real-world issues like politics, religion, and philosophy, or of issues that polarise subpopulations. For the purposes of this agreement, Trolling means posting derogatory messages about sensitive or off-topic subjects in order to derail the conversation or to bait users into responding. #
    7. You agree not to discuss topics in posts that have been specifically banned for discussion by the Captain’s Council of the Colorado Rogues organization. #
    8. You acknowledge that some individual forums on “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums” are public, and can be read by anyone visiting our forum address on the internet. By posting in these public forums, you agree to the content being accessible publicly, including access by search engines and indexing services. #
    9. You agree that “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums”, and its moderators, have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time that is found to be in violation of these Terms, or as otherwise directed by the Captain’s Council of the Colorado Rogues organization. As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums” nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised. #
    10. You have the ability to choose your own username when you register, or to change it at a later date. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. The use of vulgar or obscene names, false or offensive representation, or the use of inappropriate ranks in the username (e.g., Captain, First Mate, etc.) may result in the administrators modifying, renaming, deleting or banning names, at their sole discretion. #
    11. For your account on these forums, you agree to never share your password with another person, except when necessary for legitimate account management or personal administrative activities. Group accounts, if created, are similarly restricted to only those members of the intended group. If you must share your password, you agree to change it immediately after the legitimate need has ended. We HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to help prevent account theft. Passwords must be at least 6 characters in length. #
    12. You agree to keep your email address associated with your account current and up-to-date. Be advised that if you update your email address, your account will be temporarily deactivated as a security feature. Your account should be reactivated within 24 hours. #
    13. You agree to not share content from any private forum with someone who is not authorized to see that content for themselves. #
    14. You agree to not access any private forum, by any means, that you are not personally authorized to see. This includes accessing the forums with an account that is not your own, per the laws of your state, the State of Colorado, the state or state(s) in which “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums” is hosted, and any applicable Federal statutes. #
    15. As a member of “The Colorado Rogues Community Forums”, you agree that your membership is a privilege, not a right, and that your membership was elective. You further agree to be held to a minimum level of participation. If you are a full member Rogue, there is no minimum requirement. However, auxiliary members will be declared inactive if: 1) there are no recorded forum visits or posts within any 12 month period (18 months for Friends of Rogues); or, 2) no recorded forum visits and no posts within the initial 3 month period after becoming a new member (6 months for Friends of Rogues). Inactive accounts will be sent a notification to the email address on record giving at least 2 weeks notice prior to removing any inactive account. This allows the member plenty of time to request that the account remain active via reply email or simply logging onto the Boards and rectifying the inactivity. #
    16. You acknowledge that violations of the TOS may result in warnings, partial suspension, or complete suspension of forum privileges, up to and including the complete removal of your account. Access restrictions will be determined by the Forum Administrators, solely at their discretion. Accounts belonging to full member Rogues will never be deactivated or deleted, except at the request of the account owner, or as possible disciplinary action imposed by the Captain’s Council. Account restrictions imposed on full member Rogues will be reviewed by the Captain’s Council within 7 days of the action, and will either affirm, modify, or remove the imposed restrictions. #
    17. You acknowledge that violations of the TOS may further result in disciplinary action by the Captain’s Council, if found to be a violation of the rules, procedures and protocols of the Colorado Rogues organization. #
